Dear Ana Lee,
I read your post from April 7th, and I hope you found a way to work through your grief. I have often found in my deepest grief the only solace is to cry it out at the feet of Jesus. Nothing else works, even for complex issues. I am sure you probably have worked through what you were dealing with back in April or at least have come a long way in the process. But for me, healing always begins by crying my sorrow to Jesus as fully as I can. Then I can write. Or sometimes I have cried and written and cried and written. My dad passed away on January 4, 2011. He had an expression he was fond of using. He always said, "This too shall pass." I have found that this is always true. "This too shall pass" has often been my lifeline when nothing else works: I remember that within 50 years, or certainly 100, I will be in heaven and this pain will have so long ago passed over me. Not only will it pass, but the passage of time will bring great healing so that was once a severe wound and great depression will be only a memory looked back upon from a brighter day. I hope this helps you. Also, I want you to know I will lift you up to the Throne of God's Grace for His Healing Love.
God bless you,
Teresa
I'd like to throw something on the table that is very raw & personal, but something I need to discuss with fellow Christian writers.
I recently experienced a severe heart blow, followed by intense depression. I cannot write when I am depressed, except to bleed out my emotional pain. Writing is 1 of my closest passions; yet I am currently only writing devotional/meditation material once a month for the local paper.
Do you have experience with this? My 'free'/creative time is so limited right now, I crave some practical advise to push my pen into action.
The alternative is simply to wait, let this experience run its course & grow from it; begin writing again when I 'feel' like it.
Open to thoughts. & thank you for reading.
God bless~
